NAFA Child Sponsorship

NAFA offer education sponsorship for approximately 100 children attending two institutions:

Vinayak Shiksha Niketan English School and Prisoner Assistance Nepal

As a child sponsor you will receive:

• Photo and details of your child
• A yearly report on your child’s progress
• The opportunity to correspond with your sponsored child and send cards and photos.
• If you wish to visit your child, NAFA will assist through making contact and arranging a visit.

The Vinayak Shiksha Niketan (VSN) English School in Thimi is an hour east of the capital, Kathmandu. It is a charitable, non-religious and non-profit making foundation started in 1989.

Children at the Thimi School generally live with family members. The school principal is aware of the needs of the families and identifies the most deserving for help.

Funding comes from fees and endowments, with almost no government assistance. The school provides free schooling to approximately 100 of the poorest students, in addition to the 50 students subsidised by NAFA sponsorships.




Prisoner Assistance Nepal provides residential care to approximately 80 children whose parents are in prison, have died or whose circumstances have led them to abandon their children. PA Nepal also provides outreach support to 90 children who live in communities across Nepal while their parents are in prison. NAFA provides education sponsorships of approximately 50 children at PA Nepal, with other sponsorships provided to the home as a whole. 

Sponsorship of one child here assists the entire PA Nepal project.

PA Nepal is non-religious and the philosophy focuses
on equality and integration of the children into mainstream society. PA Nepal receives no government assistance.
